Do you ever just let yourself go? Just let yourself go and be silly and have some fun? I've been thinking of one part of the me-me I did that said I dance to give my kids a good laugh. I haven't done that in a long time, until today.
I turned on the radio while getting myself ready this morning. Bud and Cutie were in my room talking with me, wanting me to put moose in their hair too. That U2 song, Vertigo, comes on and I feel it--the urge to dance. I didn't care how I looked, I just felt energy that I had to express. I had so much fun jumping and dancing and giggling like a teenager in the 80s. Freedom for about three minutes. And it was enough to fill me up for the day.
Tomorrow I'm going to dance for six minutes.

I LOVE dancing with my boys. When my hubby was deployed, I'd goofy dance with them to cheer them up. ;)
I need to do more dancing with my kids!
It sounds like it was a good start to your day.
Years ago this was my primary form of exercise. You have inspired me to try it again!
it's a crazy-good freedom to allow yourself to dance like you did when you were a kid. man, i miss the 80s sometimes. . .
thanks for a fun read - i am new to your blog.
You go for it!
I love dancing with Cam. And he loves it too. I think all children like to see their parents cut loose and have fun!
That's awesome. I used to exercise by playing that game Dance Dance Revolution. And at my college Thursday night was always 80's night at our ever so small dance club.
Speaking of which, thanks for offering to add 80's Tune Tuesday to your side bar. I'll let you know if I'm going to do it or not. I get the feeling we are the only ones interested in it- so I could just quiz you every week! Regardless, next Tuesday is the day Sam and I fly out to Philadelphia for THE BIG MOVE, so it will not be happening that day.
Music therapy is what it is called in my house! We love it.
whatever "80s tune tuesday" is, i'm IN. if you need someone to play along.
: )
You go girl! What a great post! I love how you break it up into minutes! Minutes of delight are easier to imagine than hours....so I'm up to the challenge. 6 minutes of dancing tomorrow.
:)
