What's your favorite brand of Pizza and what are your favorite toppings? Our family usually gets traditional marinara pizzas that are vegetarian, Hawaiian, or pepperoni. I also like BBQ chicken pizza. I've tried a few pesto kinds, but dh doesn't like them.
Thursday, we got a few pizzas from a local chain that claims it is Chicago style. I'm wondering if it is, since I've never eaten pizza in Chicago. It's layers start with a thick pan crust, sauce, toppings, and then a ton of cheese on top. I really like it--the sauce is savory, they don't skimp on the toppings--but it costs more than the regular chains.
I really like the take & bake Pap@ Murphy's vegetarian. Their one and two-topping pizzas are very economical--under $10 most of the time.
My sister Heidi loves the Pap@ John's pizzas because they come with that garlic dipping sauce. I can't stand the dipping sauce since one of the kids poured it all over the carpet a few years ago and the smell lingered for several days no matter what I did to clean it up. Heidi also likes to dip her pizza slices in Ranch dressing.
If I'm in the mood for something really greasy and crispy, I'll order from Pizz@ Hut. Ant really likes that brand, probably because we took a Mommy Preschool field trip there and they let him make his own personal pizza.
I have to say that D@minoe's has changed in the last 10 years. I remember their crust being similar to cardboard when I was in college, but we ordered it again this year because of a school pizza night fund raiser and the pizza was actually good. My picky dh was pleasantly suprised.
But THE BEST pizza I ever had was in Queens and Brooklyn in any of the corner pizza shops that sell it by the slice. There is one shop in downtown nearby city that may slightly compare to NYC pizza.
So, how do you like your pizza?
